This is the second design to be announced in new X-Yachts’ new X range, following the X6 that’s currently in build and will be launched in March 2016.

Designed to complement this quality Danish yacht builder’s two existing ranges, Xperformance (Xp) and Xcruising (Xc), the X models are intended to combine excellent sailing capabilities with a modern and spacious interior. The latter benefits from a relatively wide beam that increases internal volume, together with careful ergonomic planning and attention to detail.
Interior designers and joiners spent two years striving to reach a distinctive style, echoing that normally only seen on larger super yachts, for the X4’s interior. The standard arrangement has three cabins, including large owner’s accommodation in the forepeak.

Options include two cabins with a single head, and three cabins with two heads – the latter providing the owner’s cabin with an en suite. Eleven fixed hull and deck port lights, together with a dozen opening deck hatches, provide ample natural light and ventilation.
Three keel options are offered – a standard 2.2m torpedo bulb keel, plus L-shape keels with either 1.85m or 2.5m draught. The sandwich hull construction is of vacuum infused epoxy.

The deck layout has twin wheels, a fold-down transom bathing platform, and high quality deck gear that’s arranged to make it easy for knowledgeable sailors to extract the best from the rig. There’s also a choice of aluminium or carbon rigs.

The first X4 will be finished during the summer of 2016, in preparation for exhibition during the autumn boat show season. The base price, excluding VAT, is approximately €279,000.
