This flybridge catamaran is now the flagship of this popular South African range of cruising and charter sailing catamarans.

The layout is intended to optimise space both internally and on deck. One of the most striking elements of the boat is the 750 square foot (70 square metre) open plan bridgedeck living area, a huge space that benefits from lofty headroom, excellent ventilation and all-round panoramic windows.

On deck there are four distinct zones, including a dining area on the bridgedeck aft of the saloon; a separate forward cockpit ahead of the saloon; and a further big dining/lounging area with a wet bar on the flybridge. The boat is therefore ideal for larger parties, where the different zones will enable different groups of guests to socialise or relax. The helm station, together with the key sail controls, are at the forward end of the bridge deck. A four-person bench seat here ensures the driver is not automatically banished away from contact with the rest of the crew.

The boat has been conceived from the ground up to allow buyers a high degree of customisation. Layouts range from a three-cabin arrangement to a six-cabin option allowing charter operators to accommodate more guests. Unlike many, even this arrangement doesn’t cram in lots of small cabins – instead two spacious and well-lit double cabins, each of which has access to the forward cockpit, replace the forward section of the huge bridgedeck area.

There’s also an owner’s four-cabin layout that has a large stateroom at the forward end of the bridgedeck, plus sizable office or dressing room and private access to the forward cockpit.
The remainder of the bridgedeck includes a well-appointed galley that wouldn’t be out of place on a small superyacht, plus a flexible indoor seating/dining area.

Overall, this is a design that offers an impressive amount of volume within its overall dimensions – in terms of space and styling it’s more akin to large loft apartment than a traditional yacht. As such it would be an ideal choice for those who place a higher value on live aboard comfort and style than outright performance under sail.
