It is with great sadness we convey the news of the death of Charles Partridge who passed away in hospital late on Friday night 2nd December 2011.

As many of our members know, Charles was a well-known, highly respected, larger than life character, who had worked for Lambert Smith Hampton and its predecessors since September 1970. During his 41 year career, Charles’ contribution to the marine industry has been significant with a recent project designed to help marinas throughout the UK get fair ratings assessments. Charles was a doyen of the rating world and his outstanding service to the surveying industry received formal recognition when he was awarded an MBE in the 2009 New Years Honours list.

The loss of Charles is a devastating blow to everybody at TYHA and LSH who has had the pleasure of working with him. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues, and we offer his family our sincere condolences at this very sad time.
